NYCA EXTENDS GOOD WISHES TO THE ODIA GIRL – THE ONLY PARTICIPANTS FROM INDIA AT THE MISS ASIA PACIFIC INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION -2017
Bhubaneswar-2/11 – The city youth body Niladrivihar Youth & Cultural Association (NYCA) extends a warm greetings and good wishes to Ms. Sonika Roy, the only participants from India at the Miss Asia Pacific International Competition-2017 going to be held at Philippines from 9th of this month. In a function arranged for the purpose under the chairmanship of its President Dr. Prakash Chandra Panigrahi at the conference hall of Venketswar English Medium School, Patia joining as the Guest of the honours the President of the Odisha Police Officers Association Mr. Satyajit Mishra & the Director of the Venketswar Group of Schools, Social Worker and the Advisor of the Association Shri Chandra Sekahar Pati congratulated Sonika with shawl, flower bouquet and memento and opined it is honour and pride for the state. The General Secretary of the association Mr. Biswajit Pattnaik (silu), Principal of the school Mr. Basanta Ku Tripathy, 
Jatra director Mr. Chhabi Barik urged to keep the hope and aspiration of the people of the country while congratulating sonika for this achievement. In reply to the felicitation Sonika offered her heartfelt thanks to all for this honour and good wishes and assured to work her level best to bring laurels for the country and also opined it is a great honour to represent country in an international forum. It is to mention here that Ms. Sonika was among one of the winner in the Miss India competition and selected to participated Iin this competition where the representative of more than 60 countries will be participating. Among others the school staffs, members of the association, intellectuals of the locality were present on the occasion. The ceremony ended with a vote of thanks by the cultural secretary Mr. Batakrushna Panda.

Shri Panda, a Post Graduate in Economics from JNU, joined Indian Railways in 1987. Shri Panda has had the distinction of serving as Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) at Sambalpur, Bilaspur and Khurda Road and also Chief Safety Officer of East Coast Railway at Bhubaneswar. He has worked in senior positions at Adra, Waltair and Kolkata too, besides a successful tenure as Head of Indian Railways Catering & Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) at Bhubaneswar.
