OBSERVANCE OF STATE LEVEL FUNCTION ON THE OCCASION OF VIGILANCE AWARENESS WEEK, 2017 ON 03.11.2017.
As advised by the Central Vigilance Commission, the Vigilance Awareness Week is being observed from 30th October to 4thNovember, 2017 throughout the State with the theme “My Vision-Corruption Free India”. 
Accordingly, all the Supdts. of Police of different Vigilance divisions and Unit D.Ss.P have organized the Week in every district by undertaking a systematic campaign, involving the members of the civil society to raise awareness so as to fight the evils of corruption. The observance of the Vigilance Awareness week commenced with the Integrity Pledge taken by the Public Servants working in the departments and Public Sector undertakings of State Govt. on 30th October, 2017 at 11.00 A.M. 
To mark this occasion and for making a perceptible impact, banners and posters containing appropriate messages for this occasion were displayed at prominent public places. Debates (Odia & English), essay and cartoon-cum-caption competitions on the theme “My Vision-Corruption Free India” were conducted in schools and colleges. Public rallies were held to create awareness amongst the students and the youth in particular and the people in general about the need for combating corruption on multiple fronts. Extensive use of social media and electronic and print media have been made for spreading awareness about Vigilance and anti-corruption efforts.
On the occasion of Vigilance Awareness Week, the State level function was held on 03.11.2017 at Rabindra Mandap, Bhubaneswar.  The Hon’ble Chief Minister, Odisha was kind enough to grace the occasion as Chief Guest. Dr. Prasanna Kumar Patasani, Hon’ble M.P, Bhubaneswar and Sri Aditya Prasad Padhi, IAS, Chief Secretary attended the function as Guests of Honour. The function was presided over by Dr. Debasis Panigrahi, Director, Vigilance, Odisha, Cuttack. During the observance of the function, the integrity pledge was administered by the Hon’ble Chief Minister to the participants. Senior Govt. Officers, members of the Civil Society, Chief Vigilance Officers of different departments, members of the print and electronic media and general public attended the function.
Cash prizes and trophies were distributed by the Hon’ble Chief Minister to the following Vigilance officials and winners of different competitions as noted against them.
