Sub   :        EX-PRESIDENT, URBAN CO-OPERATIVE BANK LTD., BARIPADA CONVICTED IN VIGILANCE CASE.

On 10.11.2017, the Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Baripada convicted Sri Bimal Lochan Das, Ex. President, Urban Co-operative Bank Ltd, Baripada  and Sri Jayanta Kumar Mohapatra of Village Deuli, P.S-Chandua, Dist. Mayurbhanj in connection with Balasore Vigilance P.S. Case No.10 dt.11.03.2011 U/s 13 (2) r/w 13 (1)(d) P.C. Act 1988/420/120-B IPC.  The Hon’ble Court sentenced Sri Das to undergo R.I for a period of 01 year, to pay fine of Rs.1,00,000/- for the offence U/s 13 (2) r/w 13 (1)(d) P.C. Act 1988 and R.I for 01 year, pay fine of Rs.10,000/- for the offence U/s 120-B IPC, in default, to undergo R.I for a period of 01 year and 02 months respectively.  The Hon’ble Court also sentenced Sri Mohapatra to undergo RI for a period of 01 year and pay fine of Rs.1,00,000/- for the offence U/s 420 IPC and R.I for a period of 01 year, to pay fine of Rs.10,000/- for the offence U/s 120-B IPC, in default, to undergo R.I for a period of 01 year and 02 months respectively. The substantive sentences of imprisonment are to run concurrently.
                    Sri P.K.Pradhan, Ex-Inspector Vigilance Cell Cuttack investigated into the case and Sri K.C.Satpathy, Spl. P.P, Vigilance Court, Baripada conducted the case on behalf of the prosecution.
