‘Rashtriya Ekta Divas’ Sardar Vallabhai Patel must be
accorded the highest respect at the national level
Sardar Patel is a unique leader; it’s his wisdom and dedication that all the free
princely states are being united as a single country called India. Sardar Patel
represents unity and that is why we celebrate Rashtriya Ekta Divas today all
over India. Today’s young generation must have ideal like Sardar Patel, Nehru,
Sri Aurobindo to lead a successful life, said Professor Sachidananda Mohanty,
VC, CUO while inaugurating the programme Rashtriya Ekata Divas organized at
the Central University of Orissa, Koraput on the occasion of the birth anniversary
of the Iron Man of India Sardar Vallabhai Patel here on today. On this occasion
Prof. Mohanty lead the oath taking as the entire University community took
pledge to stand for the Unity and sovereignty of the country.
Prof. Mohanty in his message appraised the students about the sacrifices and challenges faced by the freedom fighter of our country for a free India. He also underlined for the hardship that Sardar Patel had faced to unite nearly 565 free princely states for a unit and free country. He said “University is made to motivate the students to break the social dogmas created by the society and moving forward in life. We must talk the language of peace instead of violence and destruction”. He also said “outstanding national figure like Sardar Patel rise above narrow political or partisan consideration. They must be accorded the
highest respect at the national level”. He advised the students to be a better
citizen of this great country and to be united and motivated on the path shown
by the great leader of our country like Sardar Patel.
Sushree Mercy Mousmi Takri, compeered the programme. Dr. Phagunath Bhoi,
PRO, gave vote of thanks. Students, faculty and staff were present in at large on
this occasion. The programme was organised by the Public Relations department
of the University.
