Two KiiT-IS Students Bag National IGNITE Award
Two students from KiiT International School have bagged the prestigious National IGNITE Awards as announced by National Innovation Foundation, Govt. of India on the occasion of Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam's birth anniversary. Anshuman Nayak of Grade III and Subhra Suchismita Patel of Grade XII have been selected for this award. Anshuman ideated a smart car that would stop, if traffic rules are not obeyed. Subhra, who won this award for the second time, designed an intelligent rag sorting and picking machine. In 2016, she was a winner with her idea of farmer shoes that could plant seeds.
The National Innovation Foundation, Govt. of India announced the IGNITE awards on October 15, 2017, Dr. Kalam's birth anniversary. The competition invites unaided ideas for a better country and national development and promotes innovations among children. Out of a total national entry of over 55,000 ideas, covering every district of India, 29 project ideas were declared National Winners after a six stage selection process. Along with the KiiT-IS team, four other students from Odisha also received this award.
