i)          RECORD KEEPER CONVICTED IN VIGILANCE CASE. 
Today i.e. on 25.10.2017, the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Sundargarh convicted Sri Bharat Chandra Mahanta, Ex-Record Keeper, Tahasil Office, Bonai, Dist. Sunadargarh and sentenced him to undergo R.I for a period of 02 years and to pay fine of Rs.10,000/-, in default, to undergo R.I for a period of 03 months for the offence  U/s 13(2) / r/w 13(I)(d) P.C.Act, 1988. The Hon’ble Court further sentenced him to undergo R.I for a period of 01 year and to pay fine of Rs.5,000/-, in default, to undergo R.I for a period of 01 month for the offence U/s 7 P.C. Act. 1988. Both the sentences are to run concurrently.
                It relates to Sambalpur Vigilance PS case No. 24 dt. 23.05.2003 U/s 13(2)/13(1)(d)/7 P.C. Act, registered against Sri Bharat Chandra Mahanta, Ex-Record Keeper, Tahasil Office, Bonai, Dist. Sunadargarh for demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs. 1,400/- from the Complt. to issue Patta. On completion of investigation, charge sheet was submitted against Sri Mahanta to face trial in the Court of Law.                                                                                                                                                                             
           Sri Dharmesh Patel, Spl. P.P, Vigilance Court, Sundargarh conducted the case on behalf of the prosecution and Sri R.K.Kanungo, Ex-Inspector of Police Vigilance, Rourkela Unit was the Investigating Officer of the case.


ii)        ASSISTANT ENGINEER CONVICTED IN VIGILANCE CASE FOR POSSESSION OF DISPROPORTIONATE ASSETS. 
On 25.10.2017, the Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Jeypore convicted Sri Balakrushna Panda, Ex-JE, RWS&S Section, Koraput, A/p. Asst. Engineer, RWS&S, Paralakhemundi and sentenced him to undergo R.I for a period of 02 years and to pay fine of Rs.50,000/-, in default, to undergo R.I for 06 months for the offence U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) P.C.Act, 1988.
          Koraput Vig. PS Case No. 27 dt. 30.06.2008 was registered against Sri Balakrushna Panda, Ex-JE, RWS&S Section, Koraput for possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. On completion of investigation, the case was charge sheeted against him to face trial in the court of law for possessing disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs.14,36,280/- to his known sources of income.
                                                                                                                                                                    
          Sri M.Balaji Rao, Spl. P.P, Vigilance, Jeypore Court conducted the case on behalf of the prosecution and Sri Heneri Kullu, Ex-D.S.P, Vigilance, Malkanagiri Unit was the Investigating Officer of the case.


iii)       GRAM PANCHAYAT SECRETARY CONVICTED IN VIGILANCE CASE. 
Today i.e. on 25.10.2017, the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Berhampur convicted Sri K.Sriramulu Rao, Ex-Secretary, Palibandha Gram Panchayat under Ganjam Block, Dist. Ganjam and sentenced him to undergo R.I for a period of 02 years and to pay fine of Rs.5,000/-, in default, to undergo R.I for a period of 03 months for the offence  U/s 13(2) / r/w 13(1)(d) P.C.Act, 1988/468/420 IPC. The Hon’ble Court further sentenced him to undergo R.I for a period of 01 year and to pay fine of Rs.1,000/-, in default, to undergo R.I for a period of 01 month for the offence U/s 471 IPC. Both the sentences are to run concurrently.
           Berhampur Vigilance PS Case No. 08 dt. 11.03.2004 U/s 13(2)/r/w 13(1)(d) P.C. Act/ 468/420/471 IPC was registered against Sri K.Sriramulu Rao, Ex-Secretary, Palibandha GP under Ganjam Block, Dist. Ganjam for producing  fake H.S.C. Examination Certificate and showing false date of birth for his appointment. On completion of investigation, charge sheet was submitted against Sri Rao to face trial in the Court of Law.                                                                                                                                                                            
           Sri Tapan Kumar Das, Spl. P.P, Vigilance Court, Berhampur conducted the case on behalf of the prosecution and Sri Rabindranbath Pradhan, Ex-Inspector of Police Vigilance, Berhampurt was the Investigating Officer of the case.
