EAST COAST RAILWAY STRENGTHENS ITS VIGILANCE MECHANISM:

STEPS TAKEN TO CURB TOUTING ACTIVITIES AND MAKING RESERVATION SYSTEM MORE TRANSPARENT

East Coast Railway Vigilance Wing along with Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel have started conducting intensive joint  checks at important stations like Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, Sambalpur & Visakhapatnam Stations against possible touting activities & other malpractices during Puja peak seasons and are covering all important mass contact areas keeping in view of passenger convenience & possible loss of Railway revenue.

East Coast Railway is keeping strict vigil on the touts and unauthorised travel agents at Railway Reservation counters and misuse of facilities of e-ticketing etc. Round-the-clock monitoring is being done through CCTVs at important Stations over ECoR. The Vigilance Team is also keeping watch on Booking of Train Tickets from the IRCTC website using fake personal Users IDs and attempts by touts towards selling them for a premium.

The demands for tickets are at peak and such checks will be intensified in coming days to ensure the interest of the passengers. East Coast Railway has also appealed the passengers to buy Railway Reservation Tickets from the PRS Counters and from the authorised agents. Steps have been taken by ECoR to make the public aware of streamlining of reservation system and making it more transparent.

Massive awareness campaigns have been launched to educate the people in general & Rail Users in particular to bring transparency in public life. Seminars, Banners, Posters are being displayed & Street Plays, Drama, etc., being organized to create vigilance awareness.
