Dt.27.09.2017 - On 26.09.2017 evening, Intelligence was received
regarding movement of CPI (Maoist) Cadres near Salepali village under
Paikmal P.S of Bargarh District. Basing on the input, Inspector Prakash
Karna and four Constables of Paikamal P.S proceeded to village
Salepali to verify the information. While they were approaching the
village, a group of armed uniformed CPI (Maoist) Cadres spotted them
from a distance and opened fire. The Inspector also retaliated and in the
exchange for fire, two Maoist cadres got killed. A combing operation was
immediately launched in the area with the help of CRPF team stationed
at Paikmal P.S. In the combing operation, two dead bodies of CPI
(Maoist) cadres in olive-green uniform, one male and one female were
recovered. It is suspected that the dead CPI (Maoist) cadre belongs to
the Bargarh – Bolangir platoons of the Bargarh – Bolangir-Mahasamud
Division of the CPI (Maoist). In the encounter one SLR rifle, one .303
rifle and 82 rounds of ammunitions were recovered from the Maoist
cadres. Further combing operation are continuing in the area.
