1)            REVENUE INSPECTOR ARRESTED BY VIGILANCE ON GRAFT CHARGE.
Today i.e. on 23.09.2017, Sri Syamsundar Das, Revenue Inspector, Srinagar Circle under Dharmasala Tahasil, Dist. Jajpur was arrested by the Officers of Vigilance, Cuttack Division, while demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs.1,000/- from Sri Nilamani Swain, S/o. Late Indramani Swain, Vill/Po. Sankaradiha, PS. Dharmasala, Dist. Jajpur for submitting enquiry report to Tahasildar, Dharmasala in two mutation cases No. 1404/17 and 1599/17.
Accordingly, a trap was laid today i.e. on 23.09.2017 at 12.35 PM. The accused Sri Das, R.I. was caught red handed in his office room, while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.1,000/- from the Complt. Sri Swain. The bribe money has been recovered and seized. His hand wash gave positive chemical reaction confirming acceptance of bribe. Accused Sri Das has been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court. His residential house at Vill. Chanditala, PS. Badachana, Dist. Jajpur is being searched.
In this connectionCuttack Vigilance P.S. case No.48 dt.22.09.2017 U/s 7 P.C. Act, 1988 has been registered.
2)        SENIOR ASSISTANT CONVICTED IN VIGILANCE CASE.

Today i.e. on 23.09.2017, the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Balasore convicted Sri Rabindra Kumar Mohanty, Ex-Senior Assistant, O/o Dist. Manager, Odisha, SC & ST, Development, Finance Co-operative Corporation Ltd. Balasore and sentenced him to undergo R.I for a period of 01 year and to pay fine of Rs.5,000/-, in default, to undergo R.I for a period of 02 months for the offence  U/s 7 P.C.Act, 1988. R.I for a period of 02 years and to pay fine of Rs.5,000/-, in default, to undergo R.I for a period of 03 months for the offence U/s 13(1) (d) P.C. Act. 1988. Both the sentences are to run concurrently. 
          It relates to Balasore Vigilance P.S. Case No.15 dt.23.04.2010 U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1) (d) / 7 P.C.Act, 1988. Sri Rajendra Kumar Mohanty of Baunsabania, Nilagiri, Balasore had lodged a complaint against Sri Rabindra Kumar Mohanty, Ex-Senior Assistant for demanding of bribe Rs. 5,000/- to release the security deposit of Rs.14,000/-, deposited for supply of fishing nets to the fishermen during tender process. After completion of investigation, charge sheet was submitted against Sri Rabindra Kumar Mohanty to face the trial in the court of law.                                                                                                                                                                                       
           Late Sri A.N.Pratihari, Ex-Inspector, Vigilance, Balasore Division was the Trap Lying Officer and Miss Smitarani Mohanty, Ex-Inspector Vigilance, Balasore Division, Balasore, at present Inspector Vigilance, Vigilance Directorate, Cuttack was the Investigating Officer of the case. Sk. Haziruddin, Spl. P.P, Vigilance Court, Balasore conducted the case on behalf of the prosecution.

3)        HEAD MASTER CONVICTED IN VIGILANCE CASE.

Today i.e. on 23.09.2017, the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhawanipatna convicted Sri Gourahari Prasad Naik, Ex-I/c Head Master Bandhapada(Deypur) New Primary School (NPS) under Kalampur Block, Dist. Kalahandi and sentenced him to undergo R.I for a period of 02 years on each count and to pay a fine of Rs.1,000/-, on each count, in default of payment of fine to undergo a further period of R.I. for 01 month on each count for his conviction in the offences U/s 13 (2) r/w 13(1) (c) PC Act. 1988/409 IPC. The substantive sentences are to run concurrently.
          It relates to Koraput Vigilance PS case No. 05 dt. 28.02.2013 U/s 13 (2) r/w 13(1) (c) PC Act 1988/409 IPC against Sri Gourahari Prasad Naik, I/c Head Master, Bandhapada(Deypur) New Primary School (NPS) under Kalampur Block, Dist. Kalahandi for misappropriation of Rs. 5,45,021/- in construction of School building. After completion of investigation, the case was charge sheeted against Sri Naik to face his trial in the Court of law.                                                                                                                                                                    
Sri Satyaban Mahananda, D.S.P, Vigilance, Bhawanipatna Unit was the Investigating Officer in the case and Sri Ashutosh Mishra, Spl. P.P. Vigilance, Bhawanipatna conducted the case on behalf of prosecution.
