STATE VIGILANCE ODISHA

1)  HEAD MASTER CONVICTED IN VIGILANCE CASE.

                   Koraput Vigilance PS case No. 38 dt. 30.09.2014 U/s 13 (2) r/w 13(1) (c) PC Act 1988/409/420 IPC was registered against Sri Rudramani Mahala, Ex-I/c Head Master of Sirol Up-Graded High School under Kesinga Block, Dist. Kalahandi for misappropriation of Govt. money amounting Rs. 1,38,318/- showing expenditure on different heads and in the matter of purchasing study material, furniture of the School under Malati Choudhury Sikhya Sadhana Scheme. After completion of investigation, the case was charge sheeted against Sri Mahala to face his trial in the Court of law.                                                                                                                                                                     
Today i.e. on 22.09.2017, the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhawanipatna convicted Sri Rudramani Mahala, Ex-I/c Head Master and sentenced him to undergo R.I for a period of 02 years and to pay a fine of Rs.1,000/-, in default, to undergo R.I for further period of 01 month on each count for the offence U/s 13 (2) r/w 13(1) (c) PC Act/409 IPC. The substantive sentences shall run concurrently.
Sri Sadananda Pani, Ex-Inspector, Vigilance, Bhawanipatna, A/p. Inspector, Vigilance, Bolangir Unit was the Investigating Officer in the case and Sri Ashutosh Mishra, Spl. P.P. Vigilance Bhawanipatna conducted the case on behalf of prosecution.

2)  INSPECTOR OF POLICE CONVICTED IN VIGILANCE CASE :

                   On 17.11.2012, Sri Durga Charan Pradhani of Village Girligumma, PS. Dasmanthpur, Dist. Koraput had lodged a complaint before S.P, Vigilance, Koraput regarding demand of illegal gratification of Rs.5,000/- by Sri Pramod Kumar Panigrahi, IIC, Dasmanthpur PS, Dist. Koraput  for not arresting his nephews in connection with Dasmanthpur PS Case No. 54/11 U/s 285/304(A) IPC.  In this connection, Koraput Vigilance P.S. Case No. 47 dt. 17.11.2012  U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1) (d) / 7 P.C.Act, 1988 was registeredand charge sheet was placed against Sri Panigrahi to face the trial in the court of law.                                                                                                                                                                                       
Today i.e. on 22.09.2017, the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Jeypore convicted Sri Panigrahi andsentenced him to undergo R.I for a period of 02 years and to pay fine of Rs.5,000/-, in default, to undergo R.I for a further period of 03 months for the offence  U/s 7 P.C. Act. Further to undergo R.I for a period of 02 years and to pay a fine of Rs.5,000/- in default, to undergo R.I for a period of 03 months for the offence  U/s 13 (2) r/w 13 (1) (d) P.C. Act. Substantive sentences are to run concurrently. 
                   Sri Ramesh Kumar Panigrahi, Ex-D.S.P, Vigilance, Malkanagiri Unit, A/p. Addl. S.P, Dist. Balasore investigated the case and Sri M.Balaji Rao, Spl. P.P, Vigilance Court, Jeypore conducted the case on behalf of the prosecution.
