ASI OF POLICE ARRESTED BY VIGILANCE ON GRAFT CHARGE.

On 11.09.2017, Sri Krushna Chandra Das, ASI of Police, Odisha Engineering College Outpost, Pipili, Dist. Puri has been arrested by the Officers of Vigilance, Bhubaneswar Division, while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.2,000/- from Sri Prasant Kumar Khatei, S/o. Laxmidhar Khatei, Vill. Jamukoli, PS. Air Field, Bhubaneswar with an assurance not to institute any case under M.V. Act.   

The gist of the case is that Sri Khatei, owner of tractor bearing Regd. No. OD02-AK-4076 has engaged the tractor for transportation of materials under the jurisdiction of OEC Outpost, Pipili. Sri Das, ASI demanded Rs.3,000/- from Sri Khatei as monthly bati with an assurance not to institute any case under M.V. Act. However, after negotiation, Sri Das agreed to take Rs.2,000/- as monthly for the above purpose. Finding no other option, the Complt. reported the matter to S.P. Vigilance, BhubaneswarDivision for necessary action.     

Accordingly, a trap was laid on 11.09.2017 evening. The accused Sri Das, ASI was caught red handed in front of the OEC Outpost, while demanding and accepting bribe Rs.2,000/- from the complt. Sri Khatei. The bribe money has been recovered from his possession. Sri Das has been arrested and will be forwarded to the court. 

                   In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance P.S. case No.42 dt.11.09.2017 U/s 7 P.C. Act, 1988 has been registered.
