JUNIOR ASST.-CUM-CASHIER  ARRESTED BY VIGILANCE ON GRAFT CHARGE:
On 23.08.2017, Sri Sisir Kumar Sahoo, Junior Assistant-cum-Cashier, O/o Project Director, Rehabilitation & Resettlement, Lower Indra Irrigation Project, Khariar, Dist.Nuapada was caught red handed by the Officers of Vigilance, Koraput Division, while demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs.1,00,000/- from Sri Bhubana Paharia, Village-Lambipani, P.S-Komana, Dist.Nuapada and his nephew Jadu Paharia to release compensation amounting to Rs.5,46,000/-.
The gist of the case is that the family members of the complainant Sri Bhuban Paharia and his brother were displaced from village-Lambipani due to construction of Lower Indra Irrigation Project, Khariar. As per the rehabilitation programme, they were shifted to village Chandupala under Komna Block and during the year 2011-12, both of them received a sum of Rs.2,10,000/- and Rs.2,26,000/- as compensation respectively.  During the year 2013, the Govt. enhanced the compensation amount and as per the recent estimate, they are supposed to get a sum of Rs.2,62,000/- and Rs.2,64,000/- respectively. On 22.07.2015, both of them applied to the Project Director, Rehabilitation and Resettlement for release of the compensation amount. The accused Shri Sisir Kumar Sahoo, who was processing the file demanded Rs.1,00,000/- for the above purpose. Finding no other option, they reported the matter to S.P, Vigilance, Koraput Division for necessary action. 
Accordingly, a trap was laid on 23.08.2017 at about 12.05 P.M. The accused Sri Sahoo was caught red handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.1,00,000/- from the complainant in his office room.  The bribe money of Rs.1,00,000/- has been recovered from the possession of Sri Sahoo. Both the hands wash of Sri Sahoo gave positive chemical reaction confirming acceptance of bribe. Sri Sahoo has been arrested and will be forwarded to the court in custody.
                   In this connection, Koraput Vigilance P.S. case No.35 dt.22.08.2017 U/s 7 P.C. Act, 1988 has been registered and under investigation.
